Same happened to me - I fell for the scam as I needed my computer protected and believed it when they told me the computer was infected and needed sorting (they were posing as support for Norton security!

Posing as support online for Microsoft office, I allowed him into the computer remotely. He told me my computer was old and infected but I had only just bought it. He wanted me to uninstall my firewall and pay for new virus detector. I said I'd discuss it
